This article addresses to the questions about the status of Sunnah, raised by a contemporary orientalist Danial W. Brown. In the first Chapter of his book „Rethinking Tradition in Modern Islamic Thought‟, he has divided the Muslims‟ views about Sunnah into two groups; before al-Shafiʻ i and after him, and then tried to show that there appeared a remarkable change in Sunnah‟s status with alShafiʻ i. According to him, the early Muslims (before al-Shafiʻ i) neither differentiated various sources of Islamic law i.e. Quran and Sunnah, nor gave Sunnah of Muhammad (SAW) precedence over the Sunnahs of the Companions, notably the early Caliphs. He thinks that the ranking of revealed material only aimed at justifying the point of view of one‟s liking. He also claims that main cause of the isnad system was to discredit authorities of the opponent and to tear apart his isnads and that legal reasoning before al-Shafi„ihad been hadithfree. This study tries to clarify such ambiguities created by Daniel Brown and indicates the real status of Sunnah among the Muslims of all ages. |

The social values of Islamic Culture play a pivotal role in establishing a peaceful society. Today we have multidimensional society where people belong to different religions live, so we need to promote mutual tolerance for a peaceful society. In this context, Islamic teachings are very clear. Each individual of a society deserves the right to benefit from all general facilities. To promote tolerance and to gain peace, Islam does not apply the condition of being a Muslim on its subjects. Rather allowing all to follow their respective religions, Islam asks the Muslims not to do any sort of disfavour to the non-Muslim. Islam encourages Muslims to have friendly and brotherly relations with others. The current image of Islam that depicts this pure religion as one that promotes intolerance and disruption in a society is contradictory to the teachings of Quran and Sunnah. That is why we need to study the true spirit of Islam and follow the way of the Holy prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم (to bring forth the real representative picture of Islam. Doing this will save this world from the clash of civilization and spreading the bad impression of Islam .This paper explores the Holy Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم (perspective of this mutual tolerance, and derives an easily accessible rout to achieve this direly needed theology. |

: The demographic composition of religious groups in general and Muslim population growth projections in contemporary world in particular, due to their present and future social, economic and political perspectives and anticipated outcomes, underline the need for a framework for harmony coexistence between Muslim and non-Muslim societies. This paper draws inspiration from Mithāq-e-Medinato construe such a framework for ongoing interfaith dialogue in different parts of the world. The Treaty of Medina provides an outline that covers different sensitive points of social, economic, political, and diplomatic differences among the followers of different religions “grouped as believers” to create a harmonious interfaith environment for peaceful coexistence and settlement of issues, conflicts and disputes. The Treaty can be used by recontextualizing its spirit for aligning it with interfaith demands of today‟s world. This paper ventures to move on that direction and suggests that the best possible way out is to focus on interfaith similarities to begin with and keep the differences out of any dialogue on the subject. The starting point is the word “believers” used in the Treaty of Medina. What are the common beliefs among the followers of different religions in a society? What are the teachings of the Quran? What steps were taken by the Holy Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) to promote a harmonious interfaith environment for peaceful coexistence as a religious leader and ruler. |

Since decades, the surge of off-putting stereotyping has been pursuing and trailing the Muslim World in divergent guise and farms; as time before the terms like “Red Scare, Red Menace” and “Red Peril” were coined for Anti Socialist resentment by the imperialistic clouts. After the degeneration of soviet Russia, the mission of imperialistic powers turned its drift towards the Muslim caravan, which they mulled over as their new rival and antagonist, therefore the terms of “Green Menace” and “Green Movement” were formulated for slandering that socio-political thought which was being deemed as challenge for the Western dominion and authorities. Thus by pushing aside these most complicated terms, rapidly, the most aggressive and violent terms as Islamic Warriors’, Islamic fundamentalism and Islamist Terrorists were coined. The important thing is that why such terms were woven exact after the disintegration of Russia and its answer is found in the propaganda of ‘ISLAMOPHOBIA’, which is mostly interpreted as the ‘irrational fear of Islam and the Muslims as well as the denunciation of the religion Islam. After the fabricated melodrama of 9/11,this rising, disconcerting and disturbing trend of Islamophobia has been turning into an alarming farm by suppressing socially, marginalizing economically, persecuting religiously and upsetting Muslims with variety of angels across the world in general and in the West in special. These impacts are becoming worst day by day due to the wrong projection of Islam and Muslims through the Zionist means of transmission in farm of nefarious Media Exclusively in the West it is perceiving as a “New Challenge”, and for contesting with their this woven Menace they have been presenting the slogans of globalization and democracy with changed complicated policies wrapping in novel ways. In an idiosyncratic way, Islamophobic manifestations are snubbing and putting havoc and drastic impacts on Muslim youth from religious to social, individual to collective and from verbal to physical level of repression, abuse, vandalizing and exclusion from all wings of life. However, this study would throw light that how this mounting phobia of racism is changing the multicultural societies, their policies and attitudes towards minorities expressly the Muslims. As reflected from Quran and Seerah, this research paper would also present some commendations to cope up and overcome the increasing impacts of Islamophobic campaigns over the last couples of decades. Thus, the motion of this work are as following. |

Muslim family system is based on the Qur’anic concept of “Qawam”. According to this Qur’anic verse, men have been made "Qawam" over women. In the present situation, the Muslim family system is facing many problems due to which some important questions related to the term Qawam have come up which can be answered in the light of the definitions of Qawam, opinions of jurists and interpretations of commentators. (1) In the present times, the economic conditions have changed a lot and women's participation in household chores and responsibilities is becoming equal to that of men. Or can women join in?(2) Sometimes a woman is financially superior to a man, her share in almsgiving is complete or more than that of a man. If so, can it be a rule?(3) Sometimes a man suffers from mental or psychiatric illness or due to being physically handicapped, his family life becomes like a suspended organ and the woman becomes active instead of the man. When a woman is fulfilling all or most of the responsibilities of a man and all the reasons for the virtue of a man are present in a woman, can it be considered as Qawam or be granted the virtue of men?(4) Sometimes men move to abroad for the purpose of education or job, in the absence of which women are responsible for all the decisions of household transactions, child rearing and home care and family life, to which she is paying well. If so, can they become a shareholder in such a case?(5) In some cases, the woman is highly educated, while the man is illiterate and the woman is superior to the man in knowledge, foresight and understanding. A comprehensive selection of modern and classic Muslim scholar regarding interpretation of the Qawam and other related issues like powers and responsibilities will be discussed in this study. |

“Ulūm al-Qur’ān” is that science in which the words of the Qur’ān, their inscription and meanings are discussed. Among the sciences related to the Qur’ānic words, the Science of Readings gained the highest prominence. The Science of Seven Dialects is the most important one among the Science of Readings and is controversial. The scholars immensely dissent in the meaning of Seven Dialects; therefore, among the most important and noteworthy stances in the interpretation and elucidation of the subject terminology, Imām Ṭabarī’spoint of view is significantly notable. Imām Ṭabarī is the one who initiated the detailed discussion on the subject and quoted approximately 60 traditions; indeed he himself adopted a distinguished stance to expound the veracity of the Seven Dialects. He asserted that the Qur’ān was revealed on seven languages of Arabs which means that it was revealed on seven synonymous words; out of those seven, six were declared abandoned and the Qur’ān was preserved on only one. To support and validate his stance, he provided very strong evidences. He also mentioned every possible argument and objection on his stance and transcribed his substantial response to them. All this discussion has been narrated in the preface of his exegesis “Jāmi’ al-Bayān ‘an Tāwīl ‘Āy al- Qur’ān”. In this research paper, the findings of Imām Ṭabarī with respect to the Seven Dialects will be elaborated in accordance to the following points: 1. What is the meaning of Seven Dialects and what is the root cause of dissension in the interpretation of its meaning? 2. What is the stance of Imām Ṭabarī about Seven Dialects and what are his demonstrations against the stance; who were the scholars in later generations to accept and support his stance? 3. Critical review of Imām Ṭabarī ’s arguments regarding Seven Dialects. |

All praise be to Allah, Lord of Worlds .Peace and blessing of Allah be upon our prophet Muhammad and his family and companions. It is great blessing of Allah Almighty on this 'ummah' that He has preserved this 'dean' from distortion and discontinuity and that is by preserving His beloved book and 'sunnah' of His beloved prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) as Allah has promised in Holy Quran انا نحن نزلنا الذكر وانا له لحافظون “We have understandingly sent down the reminder and we will surely preserve it' ‘ The above promise made by Allah is obviously fulfilled in the undisputed purity of the Quranic text throughout the fourteen centuries since its revelation. Similarly Allah preserved 'Sunnah' by enabling companions (Allah be pleased with them) and those after them, to memorize, write down and pass on the statements of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and description of His way, as well as to continue the blessing of practicing. In this regard extra ordinary efforts were made by our scholars (men and women) in every period of history and in different languages. This article is an effort to highlight contributions of Dr Jamila Shaukat in Hadith studies through following of her books: 1) Studies in Hadith, 2) A biographical study of Ibn e Rahwayh and 3) Muhaddithin e Andalus. While doing so First of all her biography is presented, secondly a brief description of her works in Hadith studies is presented. Stepfamily means a family in which at least one of the mother or father has no blood relationship with the child. One of the parents has children from the previous relationship. In the present era, many social changes and traditions are growing. The trend of divorce has increased in the society. The reason for this increase is a separate topic, but the next step after this change is the emergence of many mixed families in which one or both of the married couple have child from their former spouse .In these circumstances, step-parents need to be guided by the Holy Prophet's (P.B.U.H) examples of their responsibilities towards step-children, since the Holy Prophet's (P.B.U.H) four wives had children from ex-husbands and they lived in the Holy Prophet’s homes. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) trained them to the best of their ability and made them the best members of the society, and they could get many honors, privileges and specialties. |

Customs and habits are related to the things on which the Shari'ah has based various commands and has made customs and habits the standard of these things. It is a necessary qualification for a judge and a mufti. The Shari'ah has also declared it valid because the forms of life go through evolutionary stages and take on new forms day by day, and if they are not observed, there is an impediment to the progress of life and religion. There is a question mark over the universal teachings of In view of these matters, the scholars have not only relied on the custom and custom of deriving the commands, but have also laid down the rules of jurisprudence in this context, by which the form of legitimacy and invalidity becomes clear. In the case of buying and selling, a special study has been done on the use of custom and habit and its validity and invalidity. The second part is based on the specific jurisprudential details in which Sahib Hidayah has elaborated and explained the rules of jurisprudence through the use of custom and habit, as well as some modern financial issues in this article. The Holy Qur’an has evidently stated the objective of marriage as mawaddah and rahmah (love & mercy). This must be adopted by husband and wife throughout their whole marital life. But, if due to unavoidable reasons their married relationship could not go beyond then it becomes essential for them to be parted. Marriage can be dissolved in many ways; dissolution of marriage by husband, through the court of law, with mutual consent of spouses, and several grounds denoted by the Muslim jurists and Pakistani law as mentioned in section 2 of Dissolution of Muslim Marriage Act 1939, and some others types of dissolution like Li‘ān, Zihar, Ῑlā’. Before the advent of Islam, the woman was not having or granted any right to dissolve her marriage or ask for divorce whatsoever the reasons and circumstances but Islam permits the dissolution of marriage at the request of a wife by the consent of the spouses or through the court of law or right is delegated to her for dissolution of marriage and she becomes independent to separate herself whenever she thinks that their marital companionship could not go longer. Ending the marriage tie is not recommended or encouraged in the true spirit of Islamic law for the husband and as well as for wife. But it is considered a disliked or disapproved act and a woman who demands separation without any valid ground would be deprived of paradise. Khul‘ is a type of divorce in lieu of money paid by the wife to the husband. The present research discusses the quantum of an amount to be paid in Khul‘. It also denotes what could be the nature of compensation by analyzing the opinions of Muslim jurists. This paper specifies the nature of considerations to be made in Khul‘ and what the effect could be if the amount is not mentioned. The present work focuses on the role of the superior judiciary on the quantum of money in Khul‘ by examining the case law. |

Any civilized nation cannot deny the importance of judiciary. No nation has been seen which has taken deterioration and disruption as pride. Disagreement and dispute are compulsory part of human nature. If a powerful authority is not under control to prevent the strong from defrauding the weak then it would result in National disputes. This is the reason why Islam has insisted on judiciary for National Integrity, solidarity and harmony. Islamic judicial has been divided into 3 periods. 1st period extends from Hijrat of Prophet S.A.W to 150 years. It was the initial period and during this period, the judiciary was also in its initial stages. 2nd period starts from the construction of Abbasid capital Baghdad. 3rd period is when Sultan Abdul Majeed Sani made reforms in Khilafat e Usmania then he established judiciary according to French law. Judiciary has been given great importance in Islam. Allah has sent Prophet S.A.W for the establishment of Allah's quality of justice. So, he worked to establish such a system of judiciary. Allah says: ان اللہ يامرو بالعدل والاحسان القرآن 5: 42 Translation:" Verily Allah gives the command of Justice and equality." |
