Abstract:

Before we study the beginning and evolution of elm-ul-kalaam and the study of an important group of Islamic thought in the second century of hijri, Mo’tazilla, whose ideas and thoughts resonated in the coming centuries, it seems important to analyze the causes and reasons that initiated discussions on kalaam in Islamic society. Factors, motives or challenges in an Islamic society, whose response came to be a gradual evolution of elm-ul-kalaam, come from two ways, internal and external. The internal challenge, in fact, was revealed when HazratAmir Mu'awiyah (RA) asked for the qisas of HazratUthman (RA), which resulted in the battle of siffin between Hazrat Ali (RA) and Hazrat Amir Mu'awiyah (RA). The problem emerged intensively, when a new violent group born in the form of Khawarij, as a result of the war of siffin. This was group of the rural Arabs who fought from the side of Hazrat Ali (RA) in the battle, but later on, upon the issue of arbitration, became rebellious against Hazrat Ali (RA), and HazratAli (RA) and HazratAmirMu'awiyah (RA), both of them, were declared infidels and sinners, hence expelled from Islam.

Abstract:

Quran claims that we are bestowed with Fiṭrah; basic world view, religious and moral awareness, God fearing etc. Rationalism was there in Muslim world before the translation movement, but the Greek and Indian philosophies strengthen the rational approach over the empirical and fiṭrī approach. Eventually, fiṭrī approach got vanished and idealism got dominant over every other approach. All of the thinkers, who are studied in this article believes that reason and senses are not totally reliable source of knowledge. Sufis, introduced mystic method forgaining true knowledge. The mystic approach is akin to rationalism in its core nature. As both work in isolation from external experience by senses. Mystic experience and reasoning seem sister approaches, as they both do not need testification for their findings. Rational awareness and mystic illumination donot necessarily correspond with reality. In this article some great thinkers of Muslim world are discussed. Their studies show that main stream thinkers tried to recognize empiricism, but their tilt was toward the reason. While Fiṭrah was not in their consideration. Ibn Taymīyah introduced the Fiṭrah again after long, but never subscribed by the scholars until Shah Walī Ullah and Hamid ud Din Farāhī but they are not part of this article,as the scope of the article is classic thought.

Abstract:

Until recent times, history witnessed repeated calls where those in charge positioned themselves as the defenders of religion against any danger and deviation, while condemning the state or society for its deviation, which made reform necessary. This situation prevailed until the dawn of the modern age, where the domain of Islam went through many reforms aimed at the reconstruction of what had been destroyed in religion and the revival of what had been abolished. To compliance this, many revivalist movements had been established, yet in post-colonial phenomena, the tendency of fanaticism militancy is observed among these revivalist movements. In this paper, it is tried to find out the causes and external sources that bound these movements to Radicalism in perspective of contemporary global political tendencies of the western powers.

Abstract:

The legislature in every country has the significant role of law making. However, being an Islamic Country, Pakistan has an Islamic legal system. According to the constitution of Pakistan no law can be made which is against the basic norms of Islam. To maintain the checks and balances on the legislative assembly regarding the promulgation of laws related to Islam through the amendment of the constitution of Pakistan, the Council of Islamic Ideology was formed. It is the council, which ensures the consistency and conformity of legislations with Sharia Law. It has an important role for the supremacy of Islam in Pakistan and has been frequently discussed in the recent past. This paper analyses the rationale behind the formation of this Council by looking into the history that dates back to the era of two-nation theory. Furthermore, the functioning and role of the council is to analyze critically from the perspective of the Constitution of Pakistan to evaluate its degree of effectiveness specially on the issues of the extent of its role as legislature in the presence of the parliament; it discusses some controversial verdicts issued by the Council. Furthermore, it throws light on the relevant provisions of law and its practice.

Abstract:

Laws are rules that bind all people living in a community, protect our general safety, and ensure our rights as citizens against abuses by other people, by organizations, and by the government itself. We have laws to help provide for our general safety. No doubt that in modern states, law serves three critical governance roles. First, it is through law and legal institutions that states seek to order the behavior of individuals and organizations so economic and social policies are converted into outcomes. Second, law defines the structure of government by ordering power that is, establishing and distributing authority and power among government actors and between the state and citizens. And third, law also serves to order contestation by providing the substantive and procedural tools needed to promote accountability, resolve disputes peacefully, enhancing growth, promoting secure property rights, improving access to credit, and delivering justice in society. Therefore, Islam as a religion not only provide a set of belief or the combination of few rituals but it governs the religious, social, and economic life of its followers, individually and collectively as well by expecting that sharīᶜah (Islamic law) must be followed. Pakistan is an Islamic ideological state which is established on the foundations of two nation theory, founding father of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and his sincere fellows and activists of the Pakistan Movement had struggled for such a country where they could implement the Islamic laws with liberation. After the establishment of Pakistan OPEN ACCESS: “EPISTEMOLOGY” eISSN: 2663-5828;pISSN: 2519-6480 Vol.8 Issue 9 June 2021 Epistemology June 2021 Exploring the Role of Council of Islamic Ideology…. 59 for inculcation of these objectives a constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan had drafted in the light of sharīᶜah (Islamic law). Beside this, Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) had also formulated. In fact, the CII is a constitutional body of the Islamic republic of Pakistan and is responsible for giving legal advice on Islamic issues to government and the parliament and to harmonize the laws with Islamic injunctions. Nevertheless, the study discusses the role of CII for application of Islamic norms in society, to achieve this goal the CII had paid its attention to do reform in Mass-Media i-e (electronic and Press Media) and CII had struggled to regulate the activities of both electronic and Press Media, and had tried to incorporate the moral values instructed and inculcated by sharīᶜah (Islamic law), it is obvious that media has its strong undeniable impact on thoughts, actions, morals and behavior of a society. No doubt, the CII has been making a number of recommendations for this purpose, from time to time or every so often to the Government. In sum, the study will also highlight that, to what extent the council of Islamic ideology is successful in its efforts for application of Islamic norms in electronic and Press Media regarding the establishment of an ideal Islamic society.

Abstract:

Western thought predominantly makes a distinction between the religion and the worldly affairs; hence it forms the foundation of Western civilization. The Muslim world is dependent on the West for all the intellectual as well as material needs. Therefore, Muslim societies are highly vulnerable to Western thoughts based on secularism, individualism, humanism, feminism, and freedom, etc. This research paper focusses on understanding the phenomena influencing the Muslim minds through the intellectual and materialistic streams and is nurtured through the attractions lodged in technology, recreational avenues, economic opportunities, and social justice. The paper will benefit those who stand influenced by Western thought without understanding the underlying factors uncovered herein and will help us to interact with the West through constructive dialogue, encounter the negativity through the indigenous solution and avert intimidation. In this study, analytical research methodology has been adopted with a qualitative approach.

Abstract:

Peace is the name of that condition where all the matters run smoothly without any violent differences. The concept of peace is defined as the absence of violence in any society or a healthy, positive international or inter-human relationship. In this situation, all members of society enjoy social, economic, equality, political rights, and protection. A peaceful society is where violent elements are not present and peace is considered an essential component for the well-being of society. Without peace, society is like a jungle where we can easily see immoral activities, i.e., injustice, theft, robbery, murder and looting, a difference of poor and rich, and other severe immoral deeds. If we look at history, before Islam, there was chaos everywhere. The concept of law and order was not present in that ignorant society. After the advent of Islam, an atmosphere of peace and order was established in the society and entire humanity was protected. But unfortunately, with time we have forgotten the teachings of Islam, so now we see the same conditions in the society as it was before Islam. There is a dire need to follow the teachings of Islam so that a peaceful society can be established. This research work can be a unique work in terms of its research which can benefit newcomers in the field of research.

Abstract:

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the relationship between Islamic banking and industrial production by decomposing Islamic financing (IF) into profit and loss sharing (PLS) and non-profit and loss sharing (non-PLS) modes of financing. The results reveal that IF plays an important role in boosting industrial production in the short runs, as well as in the long run. Moreover, this positive effect mainly comes from non-PLS financing. In contrast, no significant relationship was found between PLS financing and industrial development neither in the short-run nor in the long-run. The originality of this study lies in decomposing Islamic Banks financing into PLS financing and non-PLS financing to access the contribution of each mode of financing in industrial development.

Abstract:

The Middle East clash has been savagely bantered by lawmakers and strict and proficient gatherings. Lately, the Middle East clash has been the essential hotspot for distress and precariousness on the planet. The situation in the Middle East, which is becoming increasingly tense, has alarmed the entire Islamic world, and the people of Pakistan, in particular, are worried that whatever happens in the Middle East, Pakistan Is directly affected by and its negative effects on Pakistani society and environment are beginning to emerge in many respects. Conflicts in the Middle East have taken a new turn in Irāq, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, Palestine and other countries., which is very troubling for us in particular and for the world in general. By drawing attention to, my aim is to unite the Muslim Ūmmahon one forum and to create in the Muslim Ūmmah the idea that as Muslims we need to support each other and keep our eyes open on the current state of the world. And one of the goals is to draw the attention of Muslims in the Middle East who are shedding each other's blood for religious or ethnic prejudices to the teachings of the Qur'an and Hadith and to devise appropriate strategies to address these issues. Let the Muslims of the world be united in a series of unity. In this article, we will look at the events and causes of Muslims killing each other in the name of religion or ethnic pride in some of the major Muslim countries in the Middle East, and the economic, social and cultural effects of genocide. Along with reviewing them, I will also suggest some steps to overcome this unfortunate situation.

Abstract:

Malaysia is striving to become an educational hub as reflected in Malaysian Education Blueprint (2015-2025). However, due to the sever competition, declining university going population and decreasing support from the Government, universities look for additional resources. Considering students and alumni the most important stakeholders, this research looks into the phenomenon of institutional identification which motivates students/alumni to contribute back to their alma maters. Importantly, this study is more interested in examining what causes/develops institutional identification among students/alumni. Drawing on Social Identification Theory (SIT), brand personality construct in the context of International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) has been validated using confirmatory factor analysis followed by testing its causal effect on institutional identification through structural equation modelling (SEM). Using questionnaire survey gathered from 237 students, results provide model fit both in first and second order CFA. Among the six dimensions of IIUM’s brand personality model, competence was found to be the most important dimension. The causal relationship between brand personality of IIUM and institutional identification was also found significant. This research benefits IIUM with its branding strategies where emphasis can be given to the underlying dimensions of brand personality model. It is also the source of developing higher institutional identification among students/alumni which ultimately can attract more support in order to become sustainable.

Abstract:

Quran Hakeem has exhorted the mankind to observe, ponder, cerebrate and contemplate over universe again and again. The word ‘Conquest’ has been used in relation to universe and its supplementals in many verses in Quran Kareem. It becomes very clear from all these verses that Allah Almighty is the conqueror of this universe. However, mankind receives the benefits of this conquest, resultantly he might live his life being grateful to the real provider of these bounties. Quran does not forbid mankind to conquer this universe. Rather, it only declares that Allah Almighty has conquered this universe with the intent to benefit the mankind so that he may live showing gratitude towards Him. But in spite of this, muslim scholars interprets the word of ‘conquest’ used in Quran as a call to mankind for conquering this universe. In this article the Quranic interpretations of contemplation and pondering over the conquest of the universe will be taken up in detail. Moreover, it will be discussed regarding modern sciences that mankind should endeavor to optimally benefit from the universe employing adaptability and pliability approach in spite of authoritarianism.

Abstract:

Hadith has been accepted as an important, second and sacred source of Islamic Law. This status of the Hadith has remained unchallenged throughout the centuries. There have been many differences among Muslims in their juristic opinions but the authority of Hadith was never denied by any jurist. Hadith is integral to the Quran, since they are inseparably linked to each other. It is impossible to understand the Quran without reference to Hadith. The Quran is the message and the Hadith is the explanation of the message by messenger himself. If we reject the Hadith, we may misread the Quran. It is a common misconception amongst people that Ahadith were collected and written down after 150 to 200 years of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)’s death. But the fact is that Ahadith were compiled and written down since the time of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Holy Prophet (PBUH) has not only permitted but also persuaded his companions to write down his Ahadith. In pursuance of this direction, the blessed companions of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) used to write Ahadith and a considerable number of them have compiled these writings in book forms. Different books have written on the history of compilation of Hadith in different languages like Arabic, Urdu and English etc. There are many books written on said topic in Urdu and the books written in other languages have translated in Urdu too. The present article deals with analytical study of some famous books written on the compilation of Hadith in Urdu and translation from Arabic language nominated Urdu book

Abstract:

Marriage is acknowledged a blessing and recognized as not only an imperative and fundamental basis of the society but also a “ sacred covenant”.As such, it is taken as the complete half of our religion and the Sunnh of the Prophets(A.S). By following this Sunnah (tradition) of the Prophets(A.S) Hazrat Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم took Hazrat Khadija (R.A) in HIS marriage contract in HIS youth, SHE (R.A) entered HIS house as HIS wife and before prophethood whatever the role played by this Tezvij-e-Nabvi صلى الله عليه وسلم (prophetic marriage) in the carrying out HIS Apostleship duties( Nabuwah Faraiydh) are quite conspicuous and evident to all intellectuals and scholar. Indeed this marital relationship, is an imperative and vital event for the grounding of great ‘Dawa’h Mission’ which encompasses and has an immense support, consent and success of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم regarding its far-reaching impacts as well as in its fairish accomplishment emotionally and psychologically, socially and economically, politically and culturally. Besides, due to this marriage with Hazrat Khadija (R.A), before prophethood many Sharia’h rules( legislative commands) and Sunnah are deduced from Makki time of Nubuawwa (apostleship) Thus in this current article the “ The legislative Status of Tezvij-e-Nabvi صلى الله عليه وسلم before Prophethood” would be thrashed out and discussed on in detail and in an research oriented way under the following important points

Abstract:

Agriculture is of paramount importance in the present age since it forms the pivot for the great majority of the world population and its survivability. Not only the the human population, the other living organisms also depend on it for their survival. The importance of Agriculture can be realised from the fact that even in this age of space exploration and advanced state of science and technology, a sizable proportion of human population is still linked to it. It is so important that agriculture can support human life even in the absence of industry. But, no industry can take the place of agriculture. In other words, agriculture is the backbone for human survival. The present challenge of food security has attracted the attention of the whole world towards this important issue. The dependency of developing countries on developed countries is due to the variability of agricultural productivity. The pressing issue of overpopulation has also arisen on account of the shortage of agricultural output which the scientists are attempting to address to the best of their abilities. Human life is confined only to the planet Earth as according to the latest exploration, no other planet is habitable. Pakistan is fundamentally an agricultural country. When it became politically independent in 1947 the contribution of agriculture to its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was about 68% which has dwindled to approximately 24.1%. It accounts for 45% of employment. Exports from about 60% of agricultural produce and 60% of the population is dependent on agriculture.

One of those claimants was Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani who claimed to be a Prophet in 1901. Abstract:

Allah (S.W.T) created human beings as best of all creatures. Both the teachings of Quran & Sunnat-e-Nabviصلى الله عليه وسلم tell us the importance of rights of other fellow beings. The whole life of Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم is a true example of respect for humanity. Many examples of this respect are present in books of hadith &seerah. Saints and Sufis took the responsibility of amenity & guidance of humankind by following the preachings of Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, his companions and followers. They have to leave their houses and have to face hardships of every type for the sake of this cause. They made amenity, training & service of humanity along with the spreading of religion as their life goal. Usman bin Ali hujwiri is one of the most prominent names in the list of these saints & Sufis who worked day & night for the overhaul of humankind. His holy life & books train us many important lessons. Most significant of them are Fear of Allah, Peace ties, Sacrifice and respect for humankind along with Sufism & spirituality . The purpose of this article is esteem for humankind. Esteem of humankind is fundamental to every religion, race, color and social survival. Mitigation of esteem for humankind from any society can lead to assuagement of humanity in a very short time. Therefore, we will try to cover key topics of esteem for humankind from Quran, Sunnat along with quotes & excerpts from kashf ul mahjoob the composition of Usman bin Ali hujwiri. We will explore how can we benefit ourselves through kashf ul mahjoob to alleviate injustice & malfunction of the society in this tough period. The purpose of this thesis is to build an environment of peace & unity in our country.

Islam is a complete code of life for people from all walks. One of the important segments of our society is the working class. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) is an Ideal Guardian for laborer. We can find beautiful demonstrations of hard work in The Life of Holy Prophet (PBUH). He used to graze goats in childhood. He joined the trade activities in local trade and afterwards moved for free International trade. Sunnah of The Holy Prophet (PBUH) explains us the principles & ethics of business. He also showed hard work in agriculture and horticulture. He was interested in raising camels and horses. He was to be ahead of important construction works. The Arabic book “Al-Iṣābah fi Tamyiz Al-Ṣaḥabah” is a famous book of ‘Allāma Ibn e Ḥajar ‘Asqalānī on the life and contribution of the Companions. This book is quoted as a reference to decide the status of companions. Therefore, it can rightly be called the encyclopedia of the companions of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him). The commandments mentioned in these book are still unexplored. This article deals with the same commandments. The article begins with a comprehensive introduction of the author and the book. Then, in the subject's discourse, the researchers have evaluated the aḥādith related to commandments narrated in Al-Iṣābah. The evaluation comprises the authenticity of narrators and text, narrators’ mutual association or disassociation, and the final decree about the authenticity of a hadith in light of all available evidence. Subsequently, after the substantial discussion related to traditions about prayer, a brief conclusion is also presented by the researchers. This research paper is a tribute to the scholary piece of writing and a worthwhile study for all students and teachers of Ḥadith.

Quran and Sunnah are the main sources of guidance for all mankind. It is immensely needed to understand the subject sources for the guidance of humans. Arabic language is the language of Quran and Sunnah. The one who wants to know the correct interpretation of shariyah (divine way of life) must have deep knowledge of the basics of the language such as conjectures, proverbs and foundation of Arabic language. The set principles of extraction of meaning from the words are known as the study of Dalalaat (inferring the meaning) in Usool Fiqh (Principles to understand Quran and Hadees). Sometimes, the meaning of the word is meant which is directly derived from the words and sometimes, faqeeh has to extract such explanation of text which is not clearly seen and often, between the lines, a silent message is intended to be delivered in divine orders. Hence, it is a long chapter in Usool Fiqh. In this brief article, many kinds of Dalalaat of Mantooq Sareeh (meaning of clearly quoted divine orders) in the light of interpretation of Ahal Hadees scholars are going to be described.

Abstract:

Foreign policy is one of the wheels with which process of international politics operates. It is not separate from the national policy. It is an important tool to relate the relations to other countries. Foreign policies consist of aims and measures that are intended to guide government decisions and actions with regard to external affairs, particularly relations with foreign countries. Being a universal religion Islam represents broad vision of its constituted policies and considers itself responsible for the preparation of its rights. In spite of these approaches, Islam gives its own guidance in this perspective. The Holy Prophetصلى الله عليه وسلمmade practically the establishment of Islamic State, made arrangements of conveying to the whole humanity, the worldly and universal message of Islamic ideology. All these facts are evident from the foreign policies of the State of Madina. When we compare all these thoughts with Islamic teachings, we find that these thoughts and approaches are not applicable in this world. Foreign policy of an Islamic State can solve all the issues, problems and contradictions which is facing the world today
